My name is Daniel Rimmelzwaan, and I founded RIS Plus on July 1, 2007. My goal is to provide independent services related to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, with a strong focus on Business Analysis and Solution Design.
My career in BC development started in April 2000 at a global partner, where I worked for a little over 7 years. I've worked as a freelancer, I've helped establish a Business Analysis practice at one of the largest VARs in the US, I've been responsible for worldwide quality standards at another international partner, and I've helped establish one of the first Microsoft Certified ISV Development Centers, where I was one of the owners/partners. In this capacity I've worked closely with Microsoft to help lay the foundation of the massive success that is Business Central in the cloud.
I've taught classes about Business Central development all around the world, I've been instrumental in converting a lot of IP from NAV to BC, and I've helped numerous ISV partners get their IP into the cloud. Equally challenging has been converting custom built functionality from OnPrem NAV systems into the SaaS version of BC. Of course, given my experience, I am very comfortable with any version of NAV. I am equally comfortable integrating the current BC with external systems using the latest API technology. I've built integrations from BC to external systems, as well as custom APIs straight into BC and to other BC apps. Sometimes there is a learning curve but I welcome any and all challenges to help you get the job done. If it is knowledge that I can use in my own practice, I won't even charge for all of the learning time.
Today, I work as an independent freelance contractor, ready to help you move your project forward. Whether you are an ISV, a VAR, or a direct end user, feel free to leave me a message if you want to talk. The first conversation is always free, which is in everyone's budget.
Over the years I have had the immense privilege to do the technical review of many books about NAV development, reporting, design patterns, and most recently the second editions of THE book about Automated Testing and the most comprehensive reference to Mastering BC. Full credit goes to the authors of course, but I'd like to think that I've helped a lot of content be much better.
Due to my involvement in the online community, I was awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional Award for 18 consecutive years from July of 2005 until 2023. Although no longer an MVP award recipient, I am still happily involved in our community.
